Meet the Reiki Master Yoshikawa

My name is SEAN SHIN-JI YOSHIKAWA, a.k.a SHIN. I am originally from Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun. My father was a Protestant church pastor, and my mother was a classical piano instructor and a church organist. My childhood environment provided both spiritual and artistic influences.
In 1987, I landed in New York to pursue a creative lifestyle. I acquired my permanent residence permit as a professional Japanese landscape designer creating Zen gardens and providing Feng Shui consultations. These endeavors eventually led me down a natural healing path through studying Japanese hand-healing methods, acupressure/shiatsu, Chi-Gong, Zen meditation, Reiki, Japanese animism, Native American teachings, and Yoga. I became a US citizen in 2005.
Thanks to 31 years of consistent studying and diligent practice, I am a Certified Usui Reiki Master Teacher and a Certified Jikiden Reiki practitioner (Jikiden Reiki, the traditional Japanese Reiki). This makes me the fourth-generation apprentice of the founder of Reiki, Mr. Usui. My Japanese Reiki treatments specialize in body aches, cold symptoms, immune system issues, high blood pressure, digestive issues, metabolism, detox, chronic fever, fatigue, stress reduction, anxiety, depression, insomnia, wellness improvement, and spiritual empowerment. I offer my clients total relaxation, serenity, new-found insights, a deeper connection to their higher
selves, and physical and emotional healing. I also offer meditation training.
I have a good life, and life is good. I live a life of purpose and vitality, feeling empowered beyond belief. I am passionate about sharing the unique knowledge and experiences I have gained through traveling worldwide.
Consequently, I am committed to offering Japanese Reiki treatments to those who may need them. My life mission is to serve people in this world in this lifetime.

Description of a Reiki session
Reiki healing session usually lasts 60 to 90 minutes. A brief discussion will occur before the session. Reiki practitioners will describe the Reiki session to the client and allow them to discuss any particular problems or issues they are experiencing. Reiki practitioners may also ask what their clients hope to achieve from their sessions.
During the Reiki session, the recipient's comfort is of utmost importance. They will rest on a treatment table, fully clothed and with their shoes removed, ensuring a relaxing and stress-free experience. Unlike massage therapy, there is no need to remove articles of clothing, and the recipient is always fully clothed; loose, comfortable clothing is suggested, and jeans are not recommended.
Each Reiki session is usually hands-on, with a practitioner applying a light touch to the recipient's body. However, if recipients prefer not to be touched, they can inform the practitioner before the Reiki healing session begins. Then, the Reiki session will be hands-off, with the practitioner holding their hands slightly above the recipient's body.
The Reiki healing session proceeds with the practitioner moving through different hand positions over the recipient's body. The recipient may feel a warming sensation or a tingling during the session or nothing at all but sheer relaxation. The session should be pleasant, relaxing, and invigorating. Although the recipient fell asleep during the session, it's perfectly alright. you will still receive all of the session's benefits.
