Japan Reiki Therapist |
My name is SEAN SHINJI YOSHIKAWA, a.k.a SHIN-JI. I am originally from Japan, the land of the rising sun. My father was a Protestant church pastor, and my mother was a classical piano instructor, as well as a church organist. My childhood environment provided both spiritual and artistic influences. In 1987, I landed in New York in search of a creative lifestyle. I acquired my permanent residence permit as a professional Japanese landscape designer creating Zen gardens and providing Feng Shui consultations. These endeavors eventually led me down a path of natural healing through the study of Shiatsu, Chi-Gong, meditation, Reiki, Japanese hand-healing methods, Japanese animism, and Yoga. Now I am a US citizen and a Certified Usui Reiki Master Teacher, thanks to 24 years of consistent studying and diligent practice. I am also a Certified Jikiden Reiki practitioner (Jikiden Reiki, the original form of Japanese Reiki), which makes me the fourth-generation apprentice of the founder of Reiki, Mr. Usui. I offer my clients total relaxation, serenity, new-found insights, a deeper connection to their higher-self, and physical and emotional healing. I also offer meditation training. I have a good life and life is good. I live a life of purpose and vitality, feeling empowered beyond belief. I am passionate about sharing my unique knowledge and experiences gained through worldwide traveling. Consequently, I am committed to offering Japanese Reiki treatments to those in need. My life mission is to serve people in this world in this lifetime. |
Description of a Reiki sessionA full session usually lasts 60 to 90 minutes. A discussion will usually take place during an initial session with a Reiki therapist. They will describe the session to the client and will give the client an opportunity to discuss any particular problems or issues they are experiencing. Reiki practitioners will also ask their clients what they are hoping to achieve from their session.
For the actual session, the client will rest comfortably on a massage table with their shoes removed. Reiki can be performed with the client sitting comfortably in a chair as well. Unlike massage therapy, no articles of clothing are removed and a client is always fully clothed; loose, comfortable clothing is suggested and jeans pants are not recommended. No metallic objects such as watches, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and massive rings. A session can either be hands-on, where a practitioner will apply a light touch during the session, or hands-off where they will hold their hands slightly above your body. If a client prefers not to be touched, they can indicate this to the practitioner before they begin. The session will then proceed with the Reiki practitioner moving through different Reiki hand positions over the body. A recipient of Reiki might feel a warming sensation or a tingling during the session or nothing at all but sheer relaxation. The session should be very pleasant, relaxing and invigorating. |
